San Diego, CA – ImageWare® Systems, Inc. (AMEX: IW), a developer of identity
management solutions, today announced it has signed a three-year, royalty-based,
licensing agreement with Honeywell Security. This agreement allows Honeywell to
integrate biometric enrollment and identity proofing, as well as card management
and issuance of biometrically-enabled secure credentials into its physical
access control product suite. This will enable Honeywell to offer complete,
end-to-end access control solutions for Homeland Security Presidential Directive
12 (HSPD-12), Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), border
management and other mission-critical environments worldwide.
“As a leading provider in the physical access control market, Honeywell is
continually focused on providing our global customers with state-of-the art
physical access control products.” said John Lorenty, general manager, Honeywell
Systems Group. “We believe ImageWare’s open architecture and interoperable
technologies will assist Honeywell in meeting the growing demand for biometric
identity management, credentialing and card management capabilities in
government and other vertical markets, including financial, healthcare and
education.”
ImageWare’s IWS™ Biometric Engine™, IWS™ EPI™ Builder and IWS EPI Card
Management System™ will be integrated into several Honeywell physical access
control product families including Pro-Watch®, SmartPlusTM, WIN-PAK®,
Vindicator® and LobbyWorks™.
“We consider it a privilege to be aligned with one of the world’s most
recognized and respected organizations and to be selected to assist them as they
biometrically enable their physical access control products around the world,”
said Jim Miller, ImageWare’s chairman and CEO. “This agreement represents
another milestone in our strategy to pursue licensing and OEM partnerships with
market leaders in attractive and large revenue markets. We are truly delighted
Honeywell selected our leading biometric identity management platform and secure
credential technologies for its next generation of access control systems.”
Honeywell will initially offer these solutions to federal government agencies
and other enterprises in highly regulated industries that require integrated
